Lockout/Tagout

OSHA’s Lockout Tag Out (LOTO) standard addresses practices and procedures that are necessary to disable machinery or equipment and to prevent the release of potentially hazardous energy while maintenance and servicing activities are being performed.

The standard requires that lockout be utilized for equipment which is designed with a lockout capability except when the employer can demonstrate that utilization of tag out provides full employee protection.This course covers hazardous energy release, awareness and when LOTO procedures should be initiated.
Participants will learn their role and the role of their employer when working in these hazardous energy release conditions.
